Obituary for Sherelyn Heidrick Nichol

Sherelyn Rae (Heidrick) Nichol, 65 of Eminence, Missouri passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at NHC Healthcare in West Plains, Missouri. Funeral services will be held 4:00 pm Saturday, October 12, 2019 at Mullinax Funeral Home, Drexel Chapel (660-679-0009). A visitation will be held prior to the service Saturday from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm, also at the chapel. Cremation to follow services. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Sherelyn was born May 14, 1954 in Kansas City, Missouri.
She grew up in the Kansas City Area but spent much of her life in Houston, Texas and retired there in 2017 from her then occupation of school bus driver. After subsequently falling victim to Hurricane Harvey, she moved with her husband to Eminence, Missouri. Her main occupation was that of piping designer, but she also worked as a postal clerk, waitress, bartender, real estate agent, landscape drafter, and more. Sherelyn, who used the nickname Shere (sounds like “Cher”) had an outgoing personality and made friends very easily. She enjoyed many activities such as drawing, gardening, sewing and other fiber crafts. Her favorite hobby was making and collecting dolls. She enjoyed membership in many organizations relating to her activities include the United Federation of Doll Clubs. She often combined her vacation with their national convention, traveling to many cities around the country. The most important things in Sherelyn's life were her family and friends, and she will be sorely missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her parents Harold R. and Mildred Maxine Huston Heidrick, longtime residents of Drexel, Missouri, as well as her dear cousin Carol Jean Shumate, also of Drexel. She is survived by husband William H. Nichol of Eminence, MO; son and daughter-in-law Robert Heidrick and Susan Rickman and grandsons Henry and Charlie Heidrickman all of Delaware, Ohio; brother and sister-in-law Ron and Rose Heidrick of Drexel; niece Katie Heidrick of Kansas City Missouri; Cousin Larry Shumate of Drexel; and cousins Cassie Shumate and Tammie Stipe and their families.
