Obituary for Gloria Kaufman

Gloria Jewell Kaufman, 90 of Drexel, Missouri passed away April 15, 2017 at Truman Lake Manor in Lowry City, Missouri." Graveside services will be held 1:00 pm Thursday, April 20, 2017 in West Point Cemetery, Amsterdam, Missouri." There will be no visitation." Services under the direction of Mullinax Funeral Home, Drexel Chapel (660-679-0009)." Contributions are suggested, in lieu of flowers, to the Gloria Kaufman Revocable Trust c/o Hawthorn Bank." Messages of condolence may be left for the family at www.mullinaxfuneralhome.comGloria Jewell Kaufman was born May 16, 1926 in Lenexa, Kansas to Howard Marion and Fannie Mae Latty Williams." She married the love of her life James Albert Kaufman on August 14, 1943." To this union, nine children would be born." For the first three years of their marriage they made their home in Lenexa, then moved the family to the country on a 126 acre farm near Drexel, Missouri." It was on this farm that they would raise their family and live out the rest of their life." Gloria worked as a homemaker, bus driver, a cook at the Blair House, and was a Harvey Girl at Union Station." She enjoyed many hobbies including, quilting, listening to Kansas City Royals baseball games, writing in her journals, reading and baking." Gloria made amazing cinnamon rolls, a recipe that many tried to replicate, but never could get them to taste the same. " Gloria was a christian woman, and held strongly to her belief in the Lord.Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Fannie Mae Williams, step-mother Lillian Spurlock Williams, husband James "Jim" Kaufman, son Wayne Kaufman, son Roger Kaufman, daughter Sherry Page, son Terry Kaufman, daughter Denise Burton, sister Ann Wilson and brothers, Frank and Junior Williams." She is survived by her daughter Ramona Kaufman of Iowa Park, TX., sons, James Kaufman, Jr. of LaCygne, KS., Ricky Kaufman of LaCygne, KS., and Brian Kaufman and fianc" Brenda Hadley of Drexel, MO., daughter-in-law Ida Kaufman of Merwin, MO., a sister Sylvia Sinacola of Columbus, OH., brother Billy Williams of Fort Scott, KS., 17 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren.
