Clifford C. Diehl, Jr., 92 of Butler, Missouri passed away January 19, 2018 at Medicalodge of Butler. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday, January 22, 2018 at Mullinax Funeral Home, Butler (660-679-0009) with Pastor Ron Dunlap officiating. Visitation will be prior to services from 1:00 – 2:00 PM also at the funeral home. Burial will follow services in Double Branch Cemetery, Butler, Missouri. Clifford C. “Buck” Diehl, Jr. was born August 5, 1925 in Bates County, Missouri to Clifford Diehl, Sr. and Zana (Personnett) Diehl.
He attended Happy Hill Grade School for eight years, then graduated from Rich Hill High School.
During WWII, Clifford served in the 91st Infantry Division in Italy from 1943-1945. While in Italy, Clifford participated in the Po Valley and Arno River Campaign and was wounded at Bologna, Italy.
Clifford enjoyed family gatherings and watching ball games on TV. He also enjoyed watching the birds. He liked going fishing and hunting. He also, in his younger life, liked to go dancing. He definitely loved the farm life and learning to fly a plane.
Clifford was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Bob Diehl and Marvin “Short” Diehl, nephews Stephen Diehl and Steve Ison. He is survived by one sister, Clara Ison of Raymore, Missouri, nieces Charlotte Knight, Brenda (John) Simon, Leisa (Mark) Ballard, Cindy (Jeff) Garcia, nephews Donnie (Debbie) Diehl of Rich Hill Missouri and Kenneth Ison of Raymore, Missouri.
