Obituary for Charles Arnold

Charles Arnold, 85 of Adrian, Missouri passed away December 20, 2017 at his home in Adrian. Memorial services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, December 28, 2017 at the Mullinax Funeral Home (660-679-0009) in Butler, Missouri with Chaplain Steve Knoll officiating. Visitation will be prior to services from 10-11 AM at Mullinax Funeral Home. Memorial contributions are suggested to Heartland Hospice. Charles was born August 1, 1932 in Butler, Missouri, son of James Franklin and Mary Lillie (Bailey) Arnold.

Charles spent four years in the Air Force and married Audrey Mae Mark on September 24, 1952. To this union two girls and two boys were born. He worked for General Motors for 30 years before retiring in 1982 and spent the next 31 years working for the Corps of Engineers at the Corps of Engineers Lake.

His family describes that Charles worked for 30 years, and played for the next 31 years, and stayed married to the love of his life for 65 years. During the time of raising his children, he also helped raise several nieces and nephews.

Charles was preceded in death by grandchildren Robbie, Andrew and Jamie; as well as both parents; 4 brothers; 2 sisters; and 3 half-sisters. He is survived by his wife Audrey of the home; daughters Connie Donovan (Steve), and Cheryl Roudebush; sons Curtis Arnold (Angie), and Chester Arnold (Edi); 16 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters Leona Hill and Florence Cunningham.
